The School Town of Munster is committed to supporting the well-being of every student. We believe mental health is an important part of overall student health and success. 

To help ensure students and families have access to support when they need it, STM has partnered with Cartwheel to provide convenient mental health services. Through Cartwheel, students and families can access individual therapy, guidance and support for parents and caregivers, and expanded Care Programs designed to address specific challenges, including school avoidance, screen and social media use, and intense emotions and behavioral concerns.

Cartwheel, our virtual mental health partner, connects students and families with licensed clinicians and provides timely access to care with no waitlist.

Services include: 

• Individual teletherapy for students
• Parent and caregiver guidance with practical strategies for challenges at home
• Family therapy for transitions, stress, and ongoing concerns
• Psychiatric support, when appropriate
• Care Programs focused on specific challenges, including school avoidance, screen and social media use, and intense emotions and behavioral concerns

Virtual appointments are available during flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Care is free with Medicaid, most private insurance plans are accepted, and services are available in multiple languages, including Spanish.
